If You Build It, They Will Come

When I asked a very talented friend of mine to build a website for our company over a year ago, neither of us had a clue how much time and effort this project would entail.  Websites look so simple, right?  Wrong!  The best websites look simple, streamlined, and elegant.  They make it look so easy, just like a prima ballerina makes a tour jeté look as natural as breathing.  It looks effortless because of the hours of training and hard work that have gone into it.

Brigitte and I naively started out with a short list of features we wanted on our site.  What we didn’t realize was that every item on that list would necessitate a whole new list of things to think of and do, and that those new lists would lead to more new lists!  Every time we thought we were almost done, we found ourselves with 10 new things we hadn’t thought of.  And so 4 months became 6, and 6 months became 10, and so on, and so on, and so on…  Of course it didn’t help matters that we changed our name not once, but twice, along with the logo, the packaging, and the website design.  Let me just say that I have about as much love for the people who buy up internet domain names and don’t use them, as I do for ticket scalpers!

We’re almost there now – yes really this time.  We’ve got a bottle of Prosecco chilling in the fridge and we’re going to raise our glasses in a toast with our friends at Image Media Impact when we go live next Tuesday.  Brigitte and I would like to thank all of our friends and family for their support and enthusiasm.  We hope they’ve enjoyed testing our baking mixes together with their children as much as we enjoyed hearing about it!

At long last, our doors will be officially open to the world – so come on in and have a look-see.  We’re so looking forward to your visit!
